Shauna Gallagher always feels tranquil when she enters the Florence Court estate through the wooded areas and vast landscape that the 18th-century manor house overlooks.
“You instantly start to relax and unwind while driving into a movie theatre.
After recently taking over the gift shop at the National Trust site in Co. Fermanagh, Shauna described her new commute to work as “so much more relaxed and chilled out by the time you’ve parked the car and walked up to the courtyard.”
The Fermanagh businesswoman is the creator and owner of The Natural Beauty Pot, a well-known beauty and wellness company with locations in Enniskillen’s Buttermarket and online. Most recently, she added the Coach House in Florence Court to her portfolio.
The independent gift shop, which Shauna gave its name in honour of, is located in the historic Florence Court estate coach house building. The coffee shop and other public utilities are also housed in the house’s cobblestone courtyard.
Shauna has been in her current location since the first bank holiday in May, and she is currently halfway through her five-month lease, which expires at the end of September. She is adjusting well and taking advantage of the chance to work with other small independent businesses in the area and meet new clients by curating the gift shop.
It was a really enjoyable project. While conversing in the light-filled area of the Coach House gift shop, Shauna observed, “It’s really different to the kind of retail that I’ve done previously.
“The setting is really different. The Buttermarket is undoubtedly a pretty laid-back place, but Florence Court elevates the vibe.
I subsequently experienced the calming aspects Shauna described as I went through Florence Court’s gardens while listening to the birds sing and the light rain on the foliage.
